To all HRM and Tourism students, teachers, project head coordinator, or dean - here's one for you!

Coffee Sessions with the Academe
by Gloria Jean's Coffees GALLERIA BRANCH

As coffee drinking is now fast becoming part of the culture in our country, it will be interesting to know more about how our love for coffee started.

In line with our intention to share our passion for coffees, we are conducting a series of seminars, dubbed as the “Coffee Sessions with the Academe.” Each part is conducted separately, and each session lasts for about 2.5 to 3 hours.

The World of Coffee. Get to know the insights and the history of coffees, and how our passion for it all started.  As a bonus, a brief history of chocolate drink and the various types of teas will also be discussed.
•   Coffee History
•   The Cultivation of Coffee
•   Roasting of Coffees
•   The Decaffeination Process
•   Proper Way to Taste Coffee
•   Benefits of Drinking Coffee

Barista Basic. This module focuses mainly on the role and functions of the barista, and the different equipments used in a coffee shop, and its major parts.

•   Types of Beverages
•   History of Espresso
•   Step by Step Shot Guide

The most exciting portion is, the participants get to actively take part, and experience the chance to prepare their own cup of coffee!

Coffee Concoction. This is our newest and has got to be one of the most preferred modules; as participants will get to know how and what their favorite coffee drinks are made.
•   Cafι Latte
•   Cappuccino
•   Cafι Americano
•   Cafι Mocha
•   Espresso, among others

On-the-Job Training. After having successfully completed the 3 seminars, the students are now pre-qualified and may be able to join us as a student-trainee, for their compulsory OJT requirement.

Immersion Module.  Alternately, the students may opt for the Immersion Module.  This is an extensive 2-week course that is designed to accelerate their learning experience.  It is worth about 200-300 hours of OJT training, and is usually done in graveyard shift, for a more focused learning environment.

We usually conduct the seminars inside our coffee shop; we can also do it right inside your school premises, for a minimum required number of 40-100 participants, respectively. The seminar package includes the following:

•   Booklet
•   Certificate of Attendance
•   Special prizes for students who will participate in our Q&A portion
•   Sample test questionnaire for teacher
•   Snacks, which includes our famous GJ Chillers, and pastries/bread.

The Gloria Jean’s Coffees Robinsons Galleria Branch, is located at Level 2, East Wing Main Entrance, at Robinsons Galleria Mall, Ortigas Center, Quezon City.

You may call us up at (02) 635-4568, and look for Mr. Raymond Landig.  Our text line is 0922-825-1723. We will be more than glad to set up an appointment with you.
