1. How to open a PayPal account?Go to the
PayPal site to sign up for your own FREE account.
2. What do I need to open a PayPal Account?You need a valid e-mail address and a credit card, or a debit card.
3. Which Type of account should I choose?Normally, you can choose the Personal Account first. Each account has its own advantages and disadvantages. You can upgrade anytime later, if you think other types of account will best suit your needs.
3. How long does it take to sign up?It takes a few minutes only to register. For registration, your credit card will be charged $1.95, which shall be returned to you after your first spend. A 4-digit code will be sent to you for final verification.
4. What if I do not have a credit card?If you do not have a credit card, you can use a debit card, as long as it is a VISA or MasterCard. You need to load at least $1.95 worth, for the abovementioned verification procedure.
If you are in the Philippines, sign up for the UnionBank EON debit card account. Make sure that the address is the same as the one listed when you registered for PayPal.
5. What do I need to open an EON debit card?Go to any Unionbank branch. Make sure to bring 2 government issued IDs (passport, driver’s license, SSS, GSIS, etc) for proper identification. There’s an annual fee of P350 for the debit card. And load your debit card with at least P150 ($1.95 equivalent) for verification spend on PayPal.
6. Is PayPal valid in the Philippines?Yes, it is. You can now receive and send payments via PayPal in the Philippines.
7. I am from Manila, how do I get verified with my credit card?Enrol your credit card. It will be charged with $1.95. Wait for the card billing, and look for the 4-Digit EXPUSE (expansion use) number. Only credit cards with the VISA or MasterCard logo are accepted.
8. How can I get verified with Unionbank EON?Make sure to deposit about P150 in your EON debit card first. Then, enrol your debit card, and you will be charged with $1.95. Then after 2-3 working days, call up Unionbank Hotline (+632-84-186), to get your 4-Digit EXPUSE (expansion use) from the customer service agent. The $1.95 will be credited back to your PayPal account about 48 hours after you got verified.
9. The Unionbank Customer Service number is always busy. Is there any other way to get my 4-digit EXPUSE number?Yes, there is. just follow these simple steps.
a. Login to your EON Cyber account.
b. Click ACCOUNTS on top, then under DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS SUMMARY click your EON account.
c. You’ll then be redirected to the “Last 10 Transactions” page.
d. Just look for the transaction where it says something like “VISA-####PAYPAL–EXPUSE”. The #### is your 4 digit EXPUSE number.
e. Login to your PayPal, and put in the EXPUSE then you’re good to go! You can start withdrawing funds to your bank account.
10. I got the 4-Digit EXPUSE from PayPal, what next?Log in to your PayPal account, and confirm your credit or debit card. Right after PayPal confirms a match, your account will be verified immediately.
11. How do we add our Unionbank account to withdraw funds from my Paypal account? a. Log into your Paypal account. Click PROFILE tab and then click BANK ACCOUNT
b. Add bank details. Please take note that your first name and surname on your Paypal account must match the name of your bank account. If it does not , the withdrawal request will be rejected.
c. Review your bank account information
