1 hurt, 30 families homeless in Manila fire

At least one person was injured while 30 families lost their homes in a fire that razed a residential area in Manila's downtown Sta. Cruz district before midnight Wednesday.
 
The fire started at 11:15 p.m. at a house along Tambunting Street, radio dzBB reported early Thursday.
 
The fire reached the fourth alarm before firefighters put it out at 12:02 a.m. Thursday.
 
At least 20 houses were razed in the fire, the report said.
 
The injured person was initially described as a child who suffered burns in different parts of the body.
 
Arson investigators are still determining what caused the fire.
 
Less than 24 hours earlier, two people were killed in a predawn fire that hit a building at Manila's Quiapo district.
