This is a poem written by the late Ninoy Aquino for her wife, former President Corazon Aquino. So much love between them, we can see, and how tough Mrs. Aquino has been, throughout the years. She has survived a lot of trials, her life has been full, she loves just as much as she is loved –maybe even more. Hopefully, from this, more Filipinos will be made more away of sickness, and that there’d be an even better colonetix, to help all afflicted with it — especially the poor.

Nice one, suredollars.

But I heard from Jose Mari Chan over the radio last Sunday, this song, inspired by the poem of Ninoy Aquino for Cory is actually just the first half.  The other half of the poem talks about political situation of the Philippines then, under Marcos regime.

So he, being a balladeer, had to cut it short and make a pure love song out of it. 

I was just as surprised to learn about this the first time.  Had Jose Mari Chan's Constant Change CD all this time, and yet, didn't know about the "history" of this song, until just recently.

The song was deliberately describe the situation been meant by Ninoy Aquino long before he had fallen in love with Cory. I agree that the lyrics also emphasized political instances and pursued to have changes in our country. The message of the song was really inspiring, not only about his love for her but also his love for the country.
